Absolute Poker has been around for a while now, but as far as being considered as one of the top rooms, it is relatively new. Recently, they combined with UB Poker to form the Cereus Network which also allied with a couple of other poker rooms to ensure that your playing pleasure was enhanced. This also did wonders for their credibility as they needed to turn a new leaf.
They now offer an array of tournaments and promotions which keep players from all walks of life comfortable with their level of ability. Absolute also offer you a chance to win seats at the major tournaments in various satellites as well as many other weekly, monthly and yearly promotions, but now that they are part of the Cereus poker network, you will be able to take part in the network promotions and tournaments as well; for example: Annie Duke Heads-Up Challenge where you can try and knock the duchess of poker out and claim $530 seat in the next Sunday’s $150K Guaranteed Tournament.
They now also offer their software for Mac users. This has been slow coming from almost all poker rooms and it is great to see that this is finally been taken care of. A great feature though, is their Java-based version, which allows you to play from wherever – no download needed. This is great for when you are travelling – but I would still recommend that you use the download versions when you are at home – the performance from your computer will definitely be better.
They have all the needed features that you would expect, like; Hand history, player notes, chat, multi-table play, bad beat jackpot and comps. Collect reward points, which you can then use to exchange for goodies from their rewards store. If you are an active regular member at Absolute Poker, and have the minimum status of Gold (which is only 500 status points), then you can create your own private table or tournament where you can invite friends, colleagues or family to play at your own leisure.
Lacey Jones – ” The model – poker pro”, Matt Vengrin – “The new kid everybody wants to beat” and Trishelle Cannatella – “Poker mixes with reality” form the Abolute Poker pro team. One of them will generally always be at the tables – so keep your eyes open!
